If you live in the St. Louis area, and you see a VW that has a personality complex, chances are Al has had his hands on it. Al tends to put shame to American Muscle cars with a turbo charged flat 4s. Al's work has been shown in VW magazines, and respected by many. I found Al through the VW grapevine. I mentioned I needed help to someone, and they pointed me to him. On these pages are some of the pictures I took on my last visit to Al's shop to drop off my new Weber Carbs, and just to see what all he had going.

The black car was there being worked on. The owner is going for the World's Fastest Street Legal VW. Originally this engine was going to be put in a Ghia being built from the ground up, but due to a little too much nitrous in Nashville the previous engine was removed, and this one was mounted. They were just getting the car ready to start when I got there so I stuck around and watched.

The red engine is Al's, it had been in his bug, but was removed because the idiots that were trying to sell the car for him blew it up, lesson learned, don't ever go to FastLane Cars in St. Charles, MO. The second to last picture is of the pipes on the black car, they were getting a little hot, not enough fuel for the new engine. The last one is another engine being built and tested by Al. Both push around 500hp on the DYNO. I can't wait to ride in one of these, it would be a ride to remember.
